Mazda RX-7 [FD3S] Seat Base Tilt Brackets

There are some parts for the Mazda RX-7 [FD3S] that define it as a sports car.  The rotary engine.  The sleek body lines.  The OEM Carbon Kevlar Recaro seats complete with sliding and tilting rails!

The first two are probably well known to most car guys - but the third is an FD3S owners holy grail.  The problem is, they are just as hard to find in good condition, let alone with functioning rails.

So what we did was set out to recreate the awesome tilt/slide functionality found on the Spirit-R and RZ models.  We did this by sourcing, then reverse engineering a set of OEM tilt rails with the help from our friends at Tiltworx.

The rails are made from 1/8” Cold Rolled steel, which is lighter and stronger than comparable material.  Each rail is CNC bent and TIG welded for precise fitment with your OEM FD3S Sliders.  Graded hardware is used and provided throughout for immediate assembly.  The finish is OEM and looks and feels just like factory.

The Seat Base Tilt Brackets are sold as MATCHED SETS, install on top of your OEM sliders and adapt any OEM Carbon Kevlar Recaro seats which were found in the RZ, Spirit-R or Eunos Roadster (MX-5/Miata) RS Limited.  In the end, this leaves you wil four points of tilt adjustment along with complete forward and back movement for perfect seat placement.

Product of the Year

When opening the package i was blown out of the water by the amazing quality of work on this product. It require fine tolerances to get the tilt function to feel and work properly, but this is perfect. All the hardware is what OEMs would use, even down to the small plastic clips that hold the tilt rods in place. Its the best $1100 i have spent on an aftermarket product for my FD ever. Period. (And for the OCD department, the sticker is a high quality metalized one, so it comes of without leaving any glue or residue on the rails, if you want the OEM no-sticker look. Such attention to details!)
